PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The objectives of this program are to help unemployed man who has worked in the manufacturing industry with job preparation and with their integration into the job market. Each participant will learn strategies to prepare for their job search as well as useful information that will help them during their entire career.
PROGRAM CONTENT
Action Transition Program consists of a variety of interactive workshops given by professionals during an 8 weeks period. The workshops are offered in group settings of not more then 8 people. In this program you will learn about;
The importance of knowing yourself (Psycho tests on your work personality, aptitudes and interests);
How to determine your career objective;
How to transfer your skills;
Principles of a successful job search;
How to design the successful resume;
How to prepare for job interviews, theory and practice (filmed interviews);
Preparing your career portfolio;
How to write presentation letters;
How to create and produce your own business card;
Telephone interview techniques;
Tips on salary negotiation;
Tips on information interviews, networking activities;
Internet job search techniques;
Quebec’s job market expectations;
Individual action plans and follow-up;
Visits to Business;
Work experience and on the job training (where required);
Computer and French classes.
ADMISSIBILITY
Receiving Employment Assistance, Employment Insurance or without income;
Being a man who has worked in the Textile / garment Manufacturing Industry;
Being able to follow the program in English or French
18 years old and over;
Unemployed;
Available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m daily;
Ready to work (motivated and able to work);
Citizenship or permanent resident.
