PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
This program trains young adults from visible minority or ethno cultural communities with the objective of facilitating a rapid and harmonious integration into jobs corresponding to participant qualifications. This objective is reached providing that participants stay active and dynamic in their career management.
PROGRAM CONTENT
Work Integration and Support Program consists of a variety of interactive workshops given by professionals during a 8 weeks period including 2 weeks of intensive job research. The workshops are offered in group settings of not more then 10 people. This dynamic group program will enable you to share your experiences and develop your network. Each participant will be guided by their individual counselor for at least one hour per week. These one-on-one sessions will help you to determine the right career path for you. You will also be able to consult your counselor during the following 2 years after completing the program should you feel the need to do so. In this program you will learn about;
The importance of knowing yourself (Psycho tests on your work personality, aptitudes and interests);
Individual counseling and orientation;
How to determine your career objective;
How to transfer your skills;
Principles of a successful job search;
How to design the successful resume;
How to prepare job interviews, theory and practice (filmed interviews);
How to prepare your career portfolio;
How to write presentation letters, thank you letters, references list;
How to create and produce your own business card;
Telephone interview techniques;
Tips on salary negotiation;
Tips on information interviews;
Internet job search techniques;
Quebec’s job market expectations;
Individual action plans and follow-up;
Networking;
Possibility of internship;
Possibility of having a mentorship experience.
ADMISSIBILITY
From 18 to 30 years old;
Member of a visible minority or ethnocultural communities;
Able to speak and write in French;
Unemployed;
Available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily;
Ready to work (motivated and able to work);
Citizenship or permanent resident;

HOW TO APPLY?
- Take an appointment with an employment counselor by calling 514-948-0000.
- During your appointment you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that will help us to know you better and determine your needs.
- You will also obtain a form at this time for Emploi-Quebec when you meet with a counselor. This form will help us to complete your registration.
- Take the form to your Local Employment Center (CLE) for the final approval in the program and when you next visit Centre Génération Emploi, make sure that you hand it to your counselor.
