Founded in 1983 and previously know as Génération Travail – YMCA, the Centre Génération Emploi’s purpose was socio-economic integration of strongly underprivileged youths in the field of employment.

In July 1989, Génération Emploi widened its reach and services to include equality in employment access and integration of the job market for ethno cultural communities, visible minorities as well as youth. In February 1998, Centre Génération Emploi was incorporated thus becoming a legal and autonomous entity.

Today, it provides services to culturally diversified clients, a majority of whom come from ethno cultural communities and visible minorities of the Montreal metropolitan area.

Through projects and programs of personal advancement, the Center also continues to maintain its engagement towards employment integration of youth and women.
